Halloween Fun

This Halloween we learned a few lessons. First of all, pumpkins do not do well in the heat. This year St. George had a glorious Halloween day. I think we hit 85 degrees. It was so nice, Bloomington Elementary decided to move their Halloween parade outside and have the students parade on the field. I totally worked on my tan, it was awesome! Any way, as we were trick-or-treating and enjoying our neighbors porch displays, we couldn't help but laugh at the all the jack-o-lanterns that were carved earlier in the week. (Ours included, see picture!) These poor pumpkins totally baked in the sun during the week, we practically had pumpkin pie. Through love and labor we sculpted spooky holiday scenes into these odd vegetable like orbs to keep with Halloween traditions, just to see the poor things rot right in front of our eyes. Oh well, lesson learned. Next year, we will carve our pumpkins the night before and we can only hope and dream that we have a porch display worth looking at, and maybe if we are lucky, just maybe, some little trick-or-treater will stop and ring the doorbell.

Happy Halloween everybody from the Sanders Family in St. George!!!
