Finally!! I am a married woman again, and I get to stay married for a whole month before Mr. Sanders is gone again, but I'll take it.
Greg arrived shortly before dinner last night and took the kids and I out to dinner. We went to the Honolulu Grill, (a family favorite) and enjoyed the painted Hawaiian beach scene on the wall as we listened to all the locals karaoke. The kids enjoyed it because the lights were turned off in the restaurant and the spotlights on the stage were all aglow. Singers gather every Friday night to enjoy the sounds of themselves singing slightly off key and the low static hum of the speakers. It makes for a fun atmosphere singing along or doing a jig in your seat while eating your Hawaiian BBQ. The Great Kambino was disappointed when there was no time for him to get on stage and do his rendition of Indiana Jones or Star Wars, while Little Miss was content just watching all the action. (Really, does that surprise anyone? anyone?) When we got home, Greg played with the kids for the rest of the night and even put them to bed.
I was off duty and was free to do whatever I chose, so the laundry it was. I know, I know, and yes, exciting it was, but I got to fold the laundry all by myself. I didn't have to pretend they were shields from Darth Vader a.k.a. Kambino, or use them to protect me from a stray dart from the dart gun. I didn't have to refold them, or straighten up a stack that had been kicked over by Blaze, Kambino's alter ego horse. No, no it was just me and I made perfect piles of perfectly folded shirts, towels, and pants. Even the socks matched up perfectly, not one left over. So welcome home Mr. Sanders, and may the force be with you!
