What a gal!

My sweet Halleebug! Do you know what she did. She chopped off all her hair, that's what she did.

We had a little friend go through a tough bout of cancer and we were invited to his star celebration at the Make-A-Wish house. After a wish is granted the person who went through the illness gets to hang a beautiful glass star from the ceiling. It is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen, and I regret that I didn't have my camera that day. This is where Hallee first learned of Locks of Love. If you have ever been to a star celebration, then you know how neat and emotional it is. Not a dry eye in the house I tell ya'. This was a time for family and friends to gather and celebrate the person with the illness. In this case we got to watch a short video of what our friend did during his time in Disneyworld, listen to a few words from his family, eat rootbeer floats, and all the kids played so many games and won so many prizes it was like Christmas all over again.

It was kind of cute because Kam and his little friend were talking and I heard Kam say that he gets to go to Disneyworld as well. His little friend got really animated and said, "Oh, did you get to go in the room with all the lights and turn the key to the box and get a wish granted too. I am happy for you, but boy, you will hate the hospital part!!"

In a way, it made me laugh and made me cry. I cried because this little boy thinks the only way you get to go to Disneyworld is to suffer through cancer, I cried because he and his family had to go through such a horrible experience, and then I cried grateful tears that we didn't have to, and then I felt guilty. I told you this was EMOTIONAL.

But my story has a happy ending. Our friend has been in remission for a while, Hallee is helping those in need, Kameron gets to go to Disneyworld in one week (without having cancer), and someone is going to get a beautiful wig.

This is Hallee's Aunt Katie, she was the only one brave enough to hold the hair. It grossed me right out, and Hallee was afraid of it. I like the hair on the head, not off of it. This is why I am a beauty school drop out. I was almost finished with it and couldn't take it anymore, I loved to color and style, and I was really good at cutting hair, but then I had to clean it up, and it was on me all the time, and well, it creeped me out.

Katie and I have totally done some funny things together, but that is a blog post for another day. She totally rocks. She owns her own salon down here on the Boulevard. She takes good care of all of us, and gives us killer deals. Like Free haircuts!! You can't beat that!
