Kameron

Yesterday, Kameron's kindergarten class went to the movie theater. I call it a movie theater, but everybody here calls it the movie house. I am just not ready to call it the movie house yet, I don't ever want to be that small town minded. To me, a movie house is a theater that entertains you by a lady playing the piano while you sit and watch a silent film, but here in Delta it is still known as the Movie House, and they show one movie per day. NO Matinees. They are killing me here. I told Greg that I am willing to jump ship at any time, so we will see what happens there.

Anyway, Kam was bused to the theater for a movie. Honestly, the last week of school is a little ridonculus. Since we were gone all of last week, (I will blog about that later) we were unaware of the movie that was selected be shown.

Kameron came home with a box of milk duds and told me the movie got a little sad. I asked what movie he saw, and he said "Ghost."

Wow, I was a little shocked by this news, because I would totally have to agree with Kameron that Ghost was a sad movie, but why were they showing that movie to kindergartners. I was told to never see that movie by my own mother because of the whole pottery wheel scene, and I was like 12 when that movie came out. ( But I did see that movie, don't tell my mom!)

I was absolutely fuming and I couldn't believe that they would show a movie like that to my child, I had the phone in hand to give the principal, who happens to my Stake President and neighbor, a piece of my mind, when Kameron piped in and told me how sad he was that the horse got sick. I asked him what horse got sick, and he said the one in the movie. I racked my brain and I could not recall a sick horse in the movie Ghost, so I started asking him questions.

He told me that it was a cartoon show about a horse, and a horse got sick and another horse jumped over a really high cliff. Now this sounded familiar, and I just started to laugh really hard, because that Kameron meant to say Spirit, not Ghost.

I just hugged that kid and gave him a kiss, because it makes me feel good that he can associate The Spirit with the Holy Ghost, and boy was I ever relieved, because there is a huge difference between the movies Ghost and Spirit.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't even show Ghost to kindergartners in Vegas...then again, I could be wrong!

Kallie watched Spirit about a million times when Syd was born- go Stallion of the Cimeron!
