You Know You Live In An Old House When...

You have to duck into all the door frames because they are so small. Pioneers must have been a bit shorter than we are today.

The bathroom window blows open when the wind blows and breaks the window EVERY SINGLE TIME! AARGH!

This is how your bathroom door locks.

The trunk of the tree in the backyard is enormous. (Don't look beyond the tree, it is a junkyard, we haven't been able clean it up yet!The front door key hole looks like this. Yes you can see right through it. The key that fits in this probably looks like something you see on Pirates of the Caribbean.

All the other door knobs look like this.

All of the vents on the bottom floor look like this. The house doesn't have vent upstairs because each room used to have its own stove for warmth.

The stairs in the house look (and feel) more like a ladder.

You can see at least eight layers of paint on the baseboards.

All the latches on the closets and windows look like this.

The bathtub looks like this. (Isn't it cute!) It is deep enough that Kam can actually swim.

The latch on the broom closet looks like this.

The original chandelier is still hanging in the dining room. (I LOVE this look! The exposed ordinary light bulb look. I can't wait until I find some covers for it.)
I will take mor pictures of the house as soon as the holiday is over.
Have a Happy fourth of July!!

I have to ask about the spider situation. When we were first married we lived in an old house (not as old as this one) with fields all over. The spiders were huge and all over the place!

hmmmmm...I'm beginning to see why he paid $40,000 for it. Look at all that 'potential'...
