This Cute Old House

This is our cute house in the OC. It is a hundred year old charmer. Legend has it that it was the towns pearl back in the day. I have seen the pictures, and it is all true. Wow! What a house! You will have to imagine it with a white picket fence, and rose bushes of all colors lining the sidewalk, but you know a lot can happen in 100 years.
This is where I spend most of my time. I love sitting on the porch watching the grass grow. Apparently this is what you do in a small town. It is such a cute porch.

This is the side of our house which was added on in the early 40's. The original owners had a son who married and needed a place to live, so they built the screened in porch, and small kitchen and a bedroom of the back. I know this because the wife it was built for now lives across the street.
The small kitchen has now been made into a modern day laundry room and mudroom. It is so nice to have.
This is another favorite spot of mine. It is on the side yard. As you can see, we still haven't quite nursed the grass back to health, but, we are trying.

Another blurry picture of my cute front porch. It makes a nice place for lazy summer afternoons.
The landlord approached us to but the house. He said that he would sell it for $150,000. Not a bad price for a 5 bedroom home on three acres. We asked around about home prices in the area, and the cute gal, who lives across the street said that that is way to much for this house. She told us that the owners bought it two years ago for $40,000.
What? Are they trying to ripoff the newbies in town?
We wouldn't buy it anyway. Though it is cute, and it has been updated, it is still 100 years old, and I don't want to deal with a 100 year old mess.

That really is a cute house. That is funny they tried to rip you off. You should tell him you will buy it for 30,000 and see what he says

I wish I could come sit on that porch with you!

I'd get wild and crazy and offer him $50,000...your mortgage payment would be like $500! Do it, I dare ya! Imagine the renovations you could do with a hundred thousand dollars?!?

I love that house! I still dream of owning a house with a porch someday. :)
