Well here in the OC our Relief Society get togethers are a little bit different from what
I am used too. First of all, all get togethers were canceled in Oct. due to "The Hunt"... hello! Why would we hold a spiritually uplifting night, when we could go camping with our husbands and clean deer carcasses. Anyway, our September Relief Society night was nothing short from impressive. We had a lovely dinner, and then we held a gun safety class. I could kick myself for not saving the invitation. It was printed on a nice card stock with a lovely flowing font that read:
"Ladies, do you own a hand gun, and do not know what to do with it? Have you ever received a handgun as a gift from your husband or loved one?"
Are you serious? Nothing says RS Enrichment night like Old Lady Finlinson finishing her dinner salad with her hand gun sitting next to her.
Now this certainly caught my attention! Nothing says Happy Valentines Day then a discreet purse hand gun.
Gentlemen, if you are looking for any last minute gifts for Christmas I just might have an idea for you. I am sure that your lady will squeal with delight to open up that little baby!
Well, I didn't attend this evening of weapon tutelage. First of all, I have never received a hand gun from a special one, (sigh!), and secondly, the only gun we own is a BB gun Greg received back in 1985. I certainly couldn't have shown up with that little thing. People would have made fun of me.
So once again, another year goes by, and I have not been formally trained on handguns, or have even shot one in my 31 years of life. I don't know. New Years in approaching, and I am always looking for new resolutions!!
*Side note:
I am not making fun of anybody that likes to shoot guns, I am sure it is a very impressive skill, I for one, don't ever think I would enjoy it as a hobby, or a gift! GREG... don't buy me one for Christmas!! I'll put a cap in your #@*! (I apologize in advance if anybody finds this offensive.)

It sounds like you are having a lot of fun in OC. We need to talk Shirley into a RS night like that. I'm sure she would love it.

An you never cease to crack me up, i love you!!! My soon to be ex husband would think that would be the best enrichment night idea EVER. I do own a gun, and I still don't know what to do with it or how to shoot it so you gotta let me know in advance when these things happen in the OC!
That is hilarious! We don't own guns, but Brad took me to a shooting range for our date night a few months ago and it FREAKED me out to even shoot at the target. My hands were sweaty like crazy and I kept looking at all the people in there shooting and wondering if they were going to turn their guns on us...yeah, I don't think he'll take me to a shooting range again.
